Double Headliner Show

Doors at 7pm;

Show at 8pm

Live at Jerry Moynihans,

Upper Gladstone St Clonmel

We are delighted to present a very special double bill for the first show in our Autumn/Winter 2024 Schedule.

We are very excited about this, as we feel these 2 singers really complement each others songs and styles.

Sabrina Dinan (Clare) and Padraig Jack (Aran Islands, Galway) are two of the best of the country’s current crop of singer-songwriters.

Padraig Jack has been on our radar for a few years, and we are pleased to get him to come to Clonmel, with the release of his new album this year. His single “Making Sand” is one of the best Irish singles of the last few years.

Sabrina Dinan wowed our audience when she came to Clonmel as a special guest of Ultan Conlon earlier this year, and it is a pleasure to get her back for her own show.

Sabrina Dinan:

Sabrina Dinan

Sabrina Dinan is a singer songwriter from Co. Clare. Having performed throughout Europe, Australia and the U.S., Sabrina has shared the stage with Damien Dempsey, Jacob Dylan and Brendan Benson to name but a few. She started playing guitar at age eleven. During that period of her life Sabrina was inspired by everything on the radio and listened obsessively with her sisters to everything ranging from Joni Mitchel to Wham.

In 1999, Sabrina packed her bags and her guitar and headed to Australia. There, she continued to hone her skills on guitar as well as her own skills as a songwriter. And it was during this time that she wrote and performed her first original song titled “Musicmaker.”She continued to play in small clubs and festivals in Sydney.

On her return to Ireland, Sabrina settled in Galway and it was there that she recorded her first E.P. titled ‘The Bondi Hotel’

After hearing her perform in Glór Theatre in Ennis, another Co. Clare resident, Luka Bloom, invited her to join him on his Holland & Belgium tour in 2006. Following this, and the comfort he had witnessed in Sabrina as a performer, Luka also invited her to tour with him in Germany, Australia and America in the same year. She was also invited to contribute to a the late John Martyn on a Tribute Album titled ‘JOHNNY BOY WOULD LOVE THIS,’ in 2011 alongside Lisa Hannigan, David Grey, Beck and Beth Orthon.

After all that initial success, however, Sabrina took a step back from performing for almost ten years. As Sabrina says herself about the Hiatus;” I’m afraid there’s no great mystery there… only that other things in my life distracted me for a while.”

Sabrina is firmly back with a bang and she also returned to Het Depot in Belgium in November 2023, again at the invitation of legendary singer songwriter Luka Bloom, to rekindle the special connection she had with audiences there in 2006.

Having launched her E.P. The Beginnings in 2023, Sabrina is busy gathering material for her Debut album.

Padraig Jack:

RTE Folk Awards nominee Padraig Jack will release his sophomore studio album in Spring 2024. A native of the the Aran islands in the Irish speaking Gaeltacht, a place that has produced the writers Liam O’Flaithearta, Máirtín Ó’Direáin and Brean-dán Ó’hEithir, Padraig is proudly bilingual both as a conversationalist and a songwriter and writes and sings meaningful songs on guitar and piano in Irish Gaelic and English. With influences from James Taylor and The Eagles to Van Morrison, Sinead O’Connor and Shane McGowan, Padraig appreciates strong songwriting with a distinct point of view.
Having demonstrated his songwriting bona fides with his critically acclaimed debut ‘Making Sand’, which was named ‘ RTE Album of the Week ’ and garnered an RTE Folk Award nomination for  ‘Best Original Song’ (Making Sand), Padraig is again teaming up with renowned producer John Reynolds (Sinead O’Connor, Damien Dempsey, Indigo Girls) and his occasional co-writing partner Barry Ronan as well as former Waterboy and Saw Doctors member Anthony Thistlethwaite.
Having toured Ireland and the UK as special guest to artists such as Miles Hunt of The Wonder Stuff , Damien Dempsey and Sharon Shannon, Padraig feels as comfortable on the contemporary music stage as he does when contextualising his own Irish Gaelic cultural background on multilingual tours of Wales and the Basque country.
Rugadh Padraig Jack O’Flaithearta isteach i clann ceolmhar in Árainn. Mac an amhránaí Barry Ronan agus nia an file Mary O’Malley, tá sé bródúil go mbíonn sé ag scríobh ceol i mBearla agus Gaeilge ar an giotár agus an piano.
Padraig Jack’s recent single ‘It Could Be Home’ was added to the RTE Recommends list for two weeks on its release in April and was the first single of his upcoming second album which will be released in 2024. His latest single ‘These Shores’ was released in May 2024.
