We are delighted to present one of Irelands rising songwriters and musicians, he is making big waves both here and abroad.
His recent appearance on The Tommy Tiernan show received widespread acclaim.
Due to ticket demand, the show has been moved to Raheen House Hotel, as the Moynihans show sold out quickly.
Born and raised on Clare Island, off the rugged west coast of Ireland, Niall McCabe’s music is shaped by the rhythms of the Atlantic, the warmth of fireside songs, and the echoes of generations past. Raised in a family-run pub where traditional Irish, folk, rock, and soul all blended into a single voice, McCabe developed a style that bridges past and present, tradition and evolution.
With a voice that carries both the weight of history and the lightness of the open sea, McCabe has crafted a sound that is both timeless and deeply personal. His debut album, Rituals, earned widespread acclaim for its introspective songwriting and lush, folk-infused arrangements, solidifying his place as a singular voice in contemporary Irish music.
His upcoming second album, due in April 2025, builds on that foundation, weaving together themes of resilience, connection, and the quiet transformations of everyday life. The latest single, Crescendo, offers a glimpse into McCabe’s evolving sound—a delicate balance of melody and meaning, exploring the human tendency to center ourselves in the struggles of others.
McCabe’s music is deeply influenced by both the traditional songs of his childhood and the modern folk and Americana movements.
This March, McCabe made his Grand Ole Opry debut, carrying the sound of Clare Island to one of the most legendary stages in the world. He also contributed to Notify’s latest album, which was named Irish Times Trad Album of the Year, further cementing his reputation as an artist who both honours and pushes the boundaries of tradition.
There’s a quiet power in McCabe’s music—a way of making the personal feel universal. His songs don’t just tell stories; they invite listeners to see themselves within them. Whether performing in intimate folk clubs, festival stages, or historic venues, his voice remains honest, warm, and unshaken by time. “For me, music is about connection,” McCabe says. “There’s something ancient about it—how songs carry stories from one person to another, one place to the next. I want my music to feel like home, wherever that might be for the listener.” Rooted in the landscapes and traditions of Clare Island, yet reaching far beyond, Niall McCabe’s music is an invitation—to listen, reflect, and lose yourself in the story of a song.
With self-effacing humour and stories told of growing up on a remote Irish Island Niall McCabe possess an effortless charm which both captivates and liberates his audience. Like the wild Atlantic landscape of his home McCabe’s songs feel timeless and natural yet bely the dense shaping of a dynamic creative force. Deft, intricate guitar work brings a lightness to the weight of Island isolation yet the sound, soul and stories of McCabe’s life and experiences breathe a deep cultured sense of discernment through his vocals. His natural distinct voice is earning him a growing loyal fanbase, discovering his music as he travels extensively, with his recent album tour schedule bringing him to venture off the Island, across Ireland, UK, Europe and North America..
As well as becoming an accomplished finger-style guitar player, Niall has been lending his unique voice to Irish trad-fusion band ‘Beoga’, touring Ireland, Europe and the USA while also playing support for Ed Sheeran, Foy Vance and Johnny Swim and opening for Chris Issak on his UK Tour, to two sold out audiences at Apollo London and Wolverhampton Civic Halls. Niall also opened for Sharon Shannon at NY City Winery in Sept. 2023. He appeared as a featured guest singer with Transatlantic Sessions on the main stage at Cambridge Folk Festival 2024.
